Hi! Basically what you should ALWAYS do in a Terran vs Protoss (I'm assuming that you are playing Terran?) is get Ghosts asap. EMP is a great ability which you should use early on (and throughout) the game. I've made a 'picture-post' on my blog today covering a TvP with EMP use, it may prove useful.

Marines Maruarder and Tanks anyway there is no such thing as great tactics for T vs P. It all depends on what strategy your opponent is planning to use. For Example if his going mass Zealot and stalker then get some blue flame Helions.
But If you're new to SC2 I would stick with the MMM strategy which is also know as the Marine Maruarder and Medivak strategy. You Can also add tank to that if you want
