Omg-wtf-bbq started the thread suggesting making zealot's charge ability as autocast with activate/disactivate (as warcraft 3) instead of passive ability, since the ability seem to have cool time

By making it autocast, zealots will not abuse the charge ability to very close enemy and save for time to dash to far enemy.
And it will be easy to pull back zealot with disactivated charge.

Moreover, zealots would use charge out of battle field.

역시 제가 가장 마지막으로 접해보았던 개발 단계 빌드의 경험으로 말씀 드리면!
I will answer with experience of latest build that i played.


1. 광전사(zealot)의 돌진(Charge) 기술의 경우 자체적으로 보이지 않는 재사용 대기시간이 있으며 약 10여초 정도입니다.

1. Zealot's Charge ability has not visible cool time, and it is about 10 seconds.

즉, 한번 돌진을 사용하면 다시 사용하기 까지 시간이 필요하지요.

so, once zealot uses charge, it need to wait to re-use the ability again.

2. 목표가 당장 공격 가능한 거리가 아닌 경우에는 비교적 가까운 거리라 하더라도 돌진 기술을 사용하여 빠르게 붙게 됩니다.

If the target is not right away distance that can be attacked, even though target is pretty near, zealots will use the charge ability to get close to the target.

Crows 님이 이야기해 주신 '비교적 가까운 거리에서는 돌진을 사용하지 않고 걸어간다' 라는 것은 아마도 그 순간의 광전사는 이미 돌진을 사용하여 재사용 대기시간에 걸려 있지 않았을까 하는 생각이 듭니다.

What Crows (a forum user) said, "Zealots will walk to very near target without using charge", I think that seems zealot was in cool-time of charge ability.


3. Twilight Council을 통해 돌진 연구를 하면, 아래 2가지가 강화 됩니다.

광전사의 기본 속도 향상(전편의 발업)
돌진 사용 가능

Zealot's Movement speed increase (Leg upgrade in Previous StarCraft)

Charge Ability

*기본 속도는 변하지 않고 돌진만 사용 가능하게 되는 것으로 오해하시는 분들도 계셔서 적어 둡니다.
*Many people would misunderstand that movement speed does not increase through upgrade and only gives charge ability, so I also posting this.




그리고 제 개인적인 경험에 의한 생각을 살짝 적어 본다면,
And my personal opinion through my experience,

광전사의 돌진 기술을 연구할 때 쯤이면 중반 이후로, 이 때는 무화기(Nullifier)나 추적자(Stalker) 등 다른 유닛들과 조합으로 구성할 때가 많았는데요.
By the time researching Zealot's charge ability, there were a lot of combinations of Nullifiers and Stalkers.

특수기술이 가능한 유닛들을 사용하거나 전술적인 유닛 운용을 하기에도 손이 조금 버거웠습니다.
It was not very easy to use units using special ability or strategical units.

(네... 물론 제 손이 빠르지 않기도 합니다 T_T)
(Well... It also means that I have slow control of units T_T)

만약 광전사의 돌진 기술까지 컨트롤 해야 하는 상황이라면 더 힘들었을 것 같기도 했는데, 저에겐 자동으로 사용이 되는 것이 더 좋아 보였습니다.
If the conditions that user need to control with zealot's charge ability, for me, it would be better to be as passive ability.




Omg-wtf-bbq 님의 말씀처럼 '자동 활성화/비활성화' 로 선택 가능하게 하는 것도 재미있는 의견인 것 같습니다.
As Omg-wtf-bbq (forum user, thread starter) said, making it 'activate / disactivate auto cast' would be interesting idea

물론 '전투가 아닐 때에도 한시적으로 속도를 증가 시킬 수 있는 광전사' 가 줄 수 있는 영향에 대해서는 충분히 더 생각해 보아야 겠다는 생각이 듭니다.
Of course, we also have to consider that results of giving 'methods of zealot's movement speed increase out of battle field'


아 그리고 전투중 상대적으로 많이 다친 광전사를 빼주는 조작을 할 때,
Moreover, controls to pull back low hp zealots,
아군 병력의 뒷 편에 위치한 추적자(stalker)를 향해 다친 광전사를 강제 공격을 시키면 돌진 기술을 사용하면서 그 추적자에게 붙습니다. 그 후 빨리 다른 행동을 하면 추적자에게 피해를 입히지 않으면서 광전사를 살려 낼 수가 있었습니다.
Command low hp zealot to attack ally's stalker and zealot will use charge ability to stalker. And if user give another command fast enought, stalker won't get hurt and zealot have succeed to run out from battle field.


비록 돌진이 지속 효과(passive)를 갖고 있어 직접적인 조작이 불가능하더라도 세밀한 조작(Control)을 통해 차이를 만드는 것은 여러 형태로 가능하지 않을까 하는 생각이 들었던 적이 있습니다.
I also thought about that, since charge ability is a passive ability, it would be harder to control directly, but by the micro controls, it will be available with many other ways.

(적) (많이 아픈 광전사) ----강제 공격을 통한 돌진---> (아군 추적자)
(적) (아직 괜찮은 광전사)

interesting, i didnt really read it all but im guessing the charging ability is from the citadel also?
